How to Get Car Window Tint Certified

If you want to start tinting car windows, then you’ll want to read this article.

There’s more to car window tinting than showing up at your buddy’s house, watching a few YouTube videos, and then tinting the next car window you see.

Sure, you could learn how to tint car windows over the next six months, fail a ton, waste a lot of good money, and still not know what you need to become a tinting professional.

Instead of wasting all your time, money, and energy “figuring it out,” how about you consider Jet Black Tint’s certification?

We teach you the skills our current car window tint professionals use every single day. Those skills are what have gotten us 1,000+ 5-star reviews from our costumers. These skills are why our franchise is succeeding and growing at such a rapid pace. And why we’re on a mission to train as many tinting professionals as possible, so we can offer you a franchise opportunity as a part of our certification program.

Now, you may be thinking, “this sounds too good to be true.” We understand why you would think that, but…

We also want you to know this opportunity is 100% real.

We’ve purchased and moved into a new facility in the Bar Area where we train and franchise our Jet Black Tint professionals, bringing them up to speed on skill, business, marketing, and more.

Our goal is to make you as successful as your imagination will allow.

Want to get certified and work at one of our shops? Great, but…

What’s You Get From Our Car Window Tinting School

You want to get certified as a car window tint professional, but you may not know where to start.

At Jet Black Tint, we want to make it super easy for you to start making money tinting car windows. From Toyota Carolla’s to Rolls Royce, you’ll be able to tint nearly any kind of glass with the tint materials we train you with. Your opportunity to make money is great, but…

You’ve got to sign up to our car window tint school to take advantage of the opportunity that awaits you.

Here’s what we include in our program:

#1. Four (4) Full Days of Hands-On Training

We put you through 30+ hours of hands-on tint training. From glass to material, installation, preparation, and more.

What’s more, we don’t force you to tint glass hung on a wall. You’ll tint actual car windows. We don’t waste your time with “wall glass,” since it’s not realistic to tint while standing up. Most of your tint jobs will be on a car, which offers a different experience altogether.

#2. Film Types and Tools

We take you through each film type we offer at Jet Black Tint (and some we don’t). We’ll also show you the tools and how to use them. There’s no stone left unturned when you train with us. You’ll be able to walk into nearly any tint shop and be able to do the job. Or, you could open your own franchise and make even more tinting under our brand name and influence around the state.

#3. Hand-Cutting vs. Computer Cutting

We show you the difference between hand-cutting and computer cutting tint. There are some significant differences, which means you’ll be overqualified to work at most tint shops when you’re done with us. Being able to do both hand- and computer-cut tint is not common. You’ll be specialized in both.

#4. Tint Prep and Dry Shrinking

A simple but vital step in the tint installation process, we’ll show you the ins and outs of tint prep and dry shrinking. We do more than show you a video or have you “watch someone” do it as your training. We get the tint in your hands, the glass in front of you, and have you practice the process yourself.

#5. Scenario Troubleshooting

While it sounds bland and boring, being able to solve car window tint problems on the fly is a super valuable skill. You can go from “how’re we going to fix this” to “The client loved their tint” without breaking a sweat. We’ll take you through common tint issues, as well as the system to troubleshoot tint issues you may come across in the future when we’re not standing next to you helping you figure it out. You’ll gain wisdom and critical thinking skills you won’t get anywhere else.

#6. One Staging and Two-Staging Installs

It all depends on the glass, material, and installer. You may need to complete a one-stage or two-stage install. If you don’t know what that means, yet, we’ll show you in our program. We’ll show you how to determine which staging to use, how to complete each stage, and what to look out for while staging projects. You’ll come out of these lessons with more experience than most veteran tint installers working today.

#7. Removing Door Panels

Each car brand and vehicle type require different approaches to remove car door panels. We show you how to find, assess, and determine how to remove car door panels. It’s simple, straightforward, and easily learned.

#8. Film Removal

We teach you how to remove film for tint replacement. This is an overlooked skill in most schools since tint usually lasts more than five (5) years on average, so cars don’t “come back” very often. But, if you know how to effectively remove tint and replace it, you become super valuable to a shop, as well as a customer when they come back in a few years after their last install.
