You can use heat to remove auto tint. You can use a hair dryer or a heat gun. Start at the corners and use the hair dryer to heat up the car window tint. This will soften the adhesive glue that is holding the car tint on and will allow you to peel it off. Once the car tint is off, you can then rub the glue off. You might need to loosen the glue with your heating tool as well. Then, wash the windows, and you’re good to go.
You can also remove car window tint using a sharp blade of some sort, such as a razer blade or a knife. An ice scraper works, too. Do note that our tint experts at Jet Black Tint do not recommend this method of tint removal. You have a high likelihood of damaging the glass, especially if you have no experience in removing tint from car windows. In this instance, you use soap to soften the car window tint, and once it’s soft, you scrape. That’s all you have to do here.
You can harness the energy of the sun to help you with car tint removal. Here, you’ll need a substance with ammonia in it, such as glass cleaner. You will cover your auto tint with this substance (a spray bottle is easiest) and cover it with a plastic bag. You’ll let it soak in for a couple of hours. The sun will heat up the auto tint and make it loose. Then you simply peel it off, wipe down the car windows, and you’re good to go.
