At Jet Black Tint, we’ve been tinting windows up and down the California coast (and, over in Katy, Texas) for years. We’ve upgraded thousands of cars and have established ourselves as the subject matter experts and the Bay Area’s customer service masters. So, why then, would we create our own DIY static tint line and encourage our customers to tint their own windows? Great question, we’re glad you asked. In today’s post we’ll review just a few of the things that make our new line of pre-cut DIY static tint so great.
1. Keep Your Ride Legal
Tint laws vary from state to state and even with local regulations. Here in California, we have some of the strictest tint laws in all of the United States, with some exceptions for medical exemptions and types of transportation – limos, etc. With static tint, you can easily install your tint when you’d like and remove it as you need to, as many times as is necessary.
When our professionals install ceramic tints here in the shop, we have to follow the law and install tints that won’t land you in hot water. If you attempt to remove permanent window tint film, it is usually ruined and must be professionally removed and reinstalled.
While we are in no way encouraging you to break the law, our static tint helps you remain in compliance as you cross-jurisdiction. Learn more about tint laws and legal tint exemptions in our previous posts on the topic and check out this video.
2. Protects You From Theft
Vehicle window tint, in general, helps protect you from theft for several reasons. First, it reduces visibility into your car, keeping your possessions from the view of casual passersby. For nefarious characters stalking cars to rob, window tint affords an uncertainty as to what may lay behind the window. Is the car even empty? Are there alarms the would-be thief cannot see? Many times, these questions are too much hassle for a crook to debate and they’ll move on to an easier target. Some suggest that vehicle window tint is a visual sign that the car owner cares about their car and takes their security and protection seriously, which may be enough to thwart break-ins.
To clarify, our DIY static tint does not help reduce theft any more than our professionally installed heat-applied window tint film, but it’s a hellova lot easier and quicker to install yourself and comes at a price point that allows you to afford super-dark tint when you’ll be in sketchy neighborhoods that you can remove when you need to (see #1 above!).
3. Keep the Creepers Out
Creepers can’t stalk what they cannot see. You go to great lengths to protect the privacy of your home and mobile devices, and DIY static tint does the same thing for your car. When the pre-cut tint film is in place, you can rest assured that prowling eyes can’t catch your gaze. Keep the peepers at bay with easy-to-install DIY static tint. Yes, it really is that easy to keep in your car and install when you need it and remove it when you don’t — although, when don’t you want it up?!
Need to change clothes in your car without the audience in a busy parking lot? No problem. Taking a tiger snooze in the front seat on your lunch break? Do so in private. Force the world outside your vehicle to mind its own business while protecting yours. Better yet, our DIY static tint film also keeps the sun out of your car as well, keeping your ride more comfortable.
4. It’s Easy to Install and Remove
One of the greatest things about Jet Black Static Tint is that it’s so easy to install and remove. So easy, in fact, that the average car owner can do it themselves. We know that there is considerable overlap between the intelligence and skill of the savviest car enthusiast and the simplest car tint application process, but we tested the installation process with those in our circle who aren’t firing on all cylinders (or neurons) — if you get what we’re saying here — and all went smoothly. Since they are pre-cut to perfectly fit your windows and easier to remove than they are to install, if you mess it up on the first try, just remove and reapply. Because there is no adhesive, heat, or special tools required, you can install the tint anywhere, in a matter of minutes! Learn more about how to apply and remove the static tint online and check out this video that shows just how easy it is.
5. It’s Incredibly Affordable
This point should probably be number one, but since the first four points are pretty priceless, we saved the price for last. But, one of the things that makes the DIY static tint so great is that it is incredibly affordable. Full-vehicle pre-cut tint packages start at $160.00 and financing is available. Our options include:
Of course, it should be noted that Jet Black Tint is known for its affordability. ‘Why,’ you ask? Your local JBT doesn’t just install vehicle window tint, but we manufacture our own, completely eliminating the middleman and allowing our product to go directly from production to your car. Since all of our products are made right here in the USA and shipped from California, we don’t incur the shipping costs that other big box brands do. So, where there are cheaper options, they are as poor-quality as they are inexpensive.
